How much does dog daycare cost in Burnaby? (2026)
Daycare pricing can be hard to compare. Some places quote a day rate, some sell memberships, some add fees at the counter. Here is exactly what daycare costs at Lucky’s, and how to work out which option is cheapest for your dog.
Full-day daycare (over 6 hours)
| Option | Price | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| Drop-in | $39.50 | $39.50 |
| 5 pack | $187.63 | $37.53 |
| 10 pack | $355.50 | $35.55 |
| 15 pack | $503.63 | $33.58 |
| 20 pack | $632.00 | $31.60 |
Half-day daycare (under 6 hours)
| Option | Price | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| Drop-in | $28.40 | $28.40 |
| 5 pack | $134.90 | $26.98 |
| 10 pack | $255.60 | $25.56 |
| 15 pack | $362.10 | $24.14 |
| 20 pack | $454.40 | $22.72 |
All prices plus GST. The per-day figures are simply the pack price divided by the number of days.
Which option makes sense?
The deciding factor is how often your dog comes, because packs expire 90 days from the first date used, not from the date you buy them.
- Once a week or less: drop-ins or a 5 pack. Five days over three months is easy to use up.
- Twice a week: a 20 pack. That is roughly 24–26 visits in 90 days, so you will use all 20 with room to spare, at $31.60 a day.
- Three or more days a week: a 20 pack, and you will likely buy the next one before the first expires.
If something comes up, like a trip or an injury, and you need more time on a pack, ask us. Extension requests are handled case by case.
Discounts most people miss
- 50% off the second family dog. If you have two dogs, the second one’s daycare is half price.
- Referral credit. Refer a friend and you get a $100 credit, and they get $50. How the referral program works.
- The assessment is free. There is no charge to find out whether Lucky’s is the right fit.
What is included
The price covers the whole day, not just supervision:
- A kennel-free facility: your dog is never crated during the day.
- Playgroups organized by temperament and energy, not size.
- Two structured enrichment sessions, at 9:30 and 2:00.
- A proper nap time from 12:00 to 2:00, with the lights down and quiet music.
- A fenced outdoor bathroom area, with shade and a cooling pool in summer.
- Staff certified in pet first aid, and a strict cleaning regime with vet-grade, pet-safe products.
What drives daycare prices in general
When you compare daycares around Burnaby, the differences usually come down to a few things:
- Staff-to-dog ratio. More people on the floor costs more, and matters more than almost anything else.
- Kennel-free or not. Crating dogs for part of the day lets a facility take more of them. Kennel-free means fewer dogs and more supervision.
- Structure. Planned enrichment and nap time take staff time. Open play all day does not.
- Hidden extras. Ask whether the quoted price includes GST, whether there are assessment or registration fees, and when packs expire.
The cheapest day rate is not always the cheapest option once expiry and extras are counted, so it is worth doing the math for how often your dog will actually go.
